Financial Aid

Financial Aid at National Career College
Your education will be one of the most important investments that you make, and at NCC we don't want finances to limit your medical career opportunities. If you are unable to meet the educational costs on your own, you may qualify to apply for financial assistance.

We know that applying for Financial Aid can seem daunting at first, but we want you to know that we can help answer all of your questions and will assist you in navigating the application process. Our Financial Aid Department can show you several financing options, including federal grants and loans. We participate in several Federal Student Aid programs, many of which are based on financial need. We will be glad to help you file applications, compare finance plans, or answer any questions you or your family may have.

Students seeking financial assistance may first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will also need to apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Federal Financial Aid program guidelines are set by the United States Department of Education.

Financial aid programs include the following:

Federal Pell Grant
The Federal PELL Grant Program provides a foundation of assistance to which other forms of aid may be added. Eligibility for the Federal PELL Grant Program is determined by a standard formula that is revised and approved every year by the federal government. Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The Federal PELL Grant Program provides a foundation of assistance to which other forms of aid may be added. Eligibility for the Federal PELL Grant Program is determined by a standard formula that is revised and approved every year by the federal government. Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back.
Federal Work-Study Grant (FWS)
Provides funds for part-time employment to help needy students earn money to help pay for their education expenses. Availability of the FWS position is announced and interested students can apply.  The positions may be on-campus or off-campus.  The financial aid department will determine the amount of an FWS award and if the applicant is eligible for an FWS position.  FWS students will be paid on an hourly basis, and cannot work for more than 20 hours per week, or the amount a student earns cannot exceed the total FWS award.

Federal Subsidized Direct Loan
Federal Subsidized Direct Loans are available to students with financial need. The interest is paid by the federal government while students are in school and for six months after students cease their enrollment. Regular payments begin six months after students cease enrollment or fail to carry at least one-half the normal full-time school workload. For loan repayment options refer to the link below:

In addition to private loans, a wide array of scholarships are available to students. NCC does not offer any scholarships.  Scholarship eligibility criteria vary. The Financial Aid Department will be happy to assist students who wish to apply for scholarships.
